  • This site (http://www.choptankdistrict.org/)   is our UNOFFICIAL site.   We will use it for more UNIT-LEVEL information, such as Unit meeting information and details, Resources, Pictures, Places to go etc...

  • An Overview of Choptank District

    Choptank District is, geographically, one of the largest boy scouting districts within Del-Mar-Va Council. The district is located on the Delmarva peninsula on Maryland's "Eastern Shore" and includes Caroline County, Dorchester County, Queen Anne's County, Talbot County, and the fringes of Kent and Wicomico Counties. The district is bounded by the Chesapeake Bay to the west and the Delaware state line to the east.

    There are currently 17 Cub Scout Packs, 20 Boy Scout Troops, 5 Venture Crews and 2 Explorer Posts in Choptank District. There are currently registered a total of x,xxx Cub Scouts, x,xxx Boy Scouts, xx Venturers and xx Explorers (and growing). There are 507 registered adult leaders.

    The area is mostly rural with an economy mainly comprised of agricultural and seafood related business and industry.

    Introduction to Scouting

    What is Scouting all about? Simply put Scouting is a movement designed to help young people grow and reach their best potential using tried and true methods. Scouting has often been called "A Game with a Purpose" because it uses activities and outdoor programs that are fun and challenging to create growth opportunities and memories that can last a lifetime. But we're getting ahead of ourselves. Perhaps the best place to start with the goals or aims of Scouting listed below.
